Poet and singer-songwriter
TO A SHOE
Here's a poem I did for National Poetry Day, 2016 that was commissioned by BBC Local.
I'm a poet and singer-songwriter, currently splitting my time between Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
I've performed poetry from London to Paris to Corby and I'm currently taking my PhD in Creative Writing. Earlier this year, I released my first collection of poetry, 'Some Poems'. Last year, BBC Local commissioned me as one of 60 poets across the country to write a poem about something important to their local area. You can see the resulting "To a Shoe" video above, which had roughly 36,647 views on Facebook (not that I'm counting). In March 2018, I was invited to Paris to be perform as a guest poet at SpokenWord Paris.
In a previous life with my old band, I toured with bands such as Napalm Death and Megadeth, played at Reading and Leeds festivals, released 3 albums and recorded an session for the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show. My music has mellowed out somewhat since then, mainly because I can't make that much noise when it's just me. My first EP, 'Some Songs' will be available in March 2018.
I've provided music and poetry workshops in schools, at festivals and for disability groups.
If you'd like to book me for commissions, workshops or performances, please get in touch.
